Val Menard

Val Menard, our office manager, is a dedicated professional with a passion for animals that led her to a fulfilling career. Graduating from St-Lawrence College in 2002 as a Registered Veterinary Technologist, Val began her journey in a small animal practice before transitioning to a Private Pharmaceutical Research Company called Coley. During her time there, she contributed to innovative vaccine development against cancer and immune diseases, honing her skills in laboratory procedures, biosecurity, and surgical techniques. 
 
Val’s adventurous spirit took her to Alberta, where she worked at Edmonton Equine, embracing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in an equine hospital. Her role involved assisting a board-certified surgeon, monitoring anesthesia, and implementing biosecurity protocols, showcasing her passion for equine care. 
 
Returning to Ontario with an expanded family of pets, Val joined The Alfred Campus Vet Tech program, contributing significantly by setting up a new lab animal teaching facility and developing procedural protocols. Over seven years, she dedicated herself to teaching full time and spent summers at Ottawa University’s Lab in the barrier facility. 
 
In 2016, Val seized the opportunity to join the Glengarry Animal Hospital team, leveraging her technical skills and previous experience to contribute to the clinic. In 2020, Val Menard achieved a pivotal milestone in her career, transitioning into the role of office manager at Glengarry Animal Hospital. Her leadership, coupled with her extensive background as a Registered Veterinary Technologist and her fervor for advancing animal care standards, has been instrumental in the success and growth of the veterinary clinic. Val seamlessly combines her technical expertise with managerial responsibilities, underscoring her commitment to fostering excellence in every aspect of the veterinary profession.
