Dr. Darryl Smith, a native of the Eastern Townships near Sherbrooke, Quebec, discovered his passion for animals while growing up on a farm. Initially pursuing a Bachelor of Sciences at Bishop’s University, he later earned his degree with honors from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 2002. During his time at Guelph, Dr. Smith actively contributed to the Student Rights & Responsibilities Committee and participated in various clubs and activities at the Ontario Veterinary College.
Embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Smith joined the Veterinary team at Hawkesbury Animal Hospital, initially as a mixed animal practitioner. Over eight years, he distinguished himself and become a partner in the practice in 2010. Dr. Smith’s expertise lies in preventive and internal medicine, reflecting his commitment to the well-being of animals.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Smith cherishes moments on his 200-acre farm, sharing these experiences with his wife and two daughters. His leisure pursuits include a love for travel, as well as a keen interest in antiques and antique tractors.
